Maple City Chapel Cookbook Fundraiser

Maple City Chapel is putting together a cookbook from our church to benefit the Heroes program. We would love for every family/person who attends MCCh to contribute at least one recipe to this project. Feel free to submit as many as you would like. There are 4 ways to submit recipes
1. Go to Cookbookpublishers.com - login: Mcchcookbook; password: cook2010 and enter your recipes online
2. Turn them in at the information center at church
3. Submit them via email to plett.five@gmail.com
4. Hand deliver to Lisa Plett or Sandy Helmuth
Deadline to submit recipes is January 16, 2011. Our goal is to have the books back to sell ...by Mother’s Day.

Women’s Ministry and Heroes Ministry are teaming up to make a Maple City Chapel Cookbook!

The Heroes program provides free respite for families affected by disabilities. Parent(s) drop off their children one Friday night a month for 3 hours and get a much needed date night!! Currently Heroes is serving 7 families—4 from MCCh and 3 from the community. Monies from the cookbooks will help pay for food, crafts and other expenses involved with this ministry.

Tuesday, December 7th at 6:30 p.m. at Maple City is
Cookbook Kickoff Night

Bring 5-10 of your favorite recipes to submit for the cookbook and make one of the recipes and bring to share. This evening will be a great time of fellowship and will have a smorgasbord of delightful dishes to sample.

If you are unable to attend this kickoff event, there will be information available on how to submit your recipes. Deadline for recipes will be January 16. Our goal is to have the cookbooks available before Mother’s Day.

We would love to have everyone at MCCh get involved and contribute their favorite recipes.

In preparation for the women's program at Conservative Mennonite Conference's annual conference in 2011, a small group of women have agreed to talk with each other about what it’s like to be them. Some are single; others are divorced, married, or widowed. Some work outside the home; others work at home. All of these women love Jesus and try to follow him. They will be part of a yearlong conversation about God, the Bible, and their various spheres. You are invited to join the conversation at amongwomencmc.wordpress.com. Pringle Park Walking Track in Goshen
from 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
This is a 12 week commitment from March 9th – May 25th.

During this time you will set a personal health goal, be accountable, be encouraged,

build relationships & participate in devotions.
An optional weigh-in will also be available.

Women's Retreat March 5 & 6

Maple City Chapel ladies, registration has now started for the women's retreat March 5 & 6 at Amigo Centre in Sturgis, Michigan. The theme this year is "Let Your Hair Down... Unwrap the beauty in You." More information and registration brochures are available at the church. Looking forward to an incredible weekend!!

Esther Beth Moore Bible Studies

We will be offering the DVD series Esther by Beth Moore starting the week of January 25.
Evening classes will start on Monday, January 25 from 7:00 - 9:00 at the home of Lisa Plett. This class will be lead by Diane Kuhns. Thursday morning class will be starting January 28 from 9:30 - 11:30 at Maple City. This class will be lead by Mollie Bontrager. Sign ups are available at the church. Hi ladies, just want to let you in on some of the upcoming information on our January and February events for 2010.

Craft Night - Friday night, January 8, 7:00 p.m. to midnight. Come to scrapbook, organize recipes, sew, knit, or any other little project you just need to get done. Bring a snack to share and come for a great evening of fellowship!!

Mom’s Out of Town - So let’s PARTY! Tuesday, January 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Wilma Miller, Lisa Plett’s mom. This is an evening of connecting with other women from Maple City Chapel! Come sit by the fireplace, play a game, chat with friends and enjoy some great food!! Everyone bring your favorite appetizer or dessert!! Sign up and directions to Mom’s house are at the Information center.

Scrapbook Weekend - February 5 & 6
5:00 p.m. Friday till 5:00 p.m. Saturday
Cost is $8.00 which includes Pizza for Friday Night, Breakfast on Saturday and all drinks! Bring sleeping bags and pillows if you plan to sleep! Sign up at the information center.

We are also planning on offering the Esther Beth Moore DVD Series starting Mid January. We plan to offer a morning and evening class. Will let you know as soon as these dates are finalized!

Topics for Real Living—- Your Faith and Your Fork
Friday night, November 13 — 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Achieving better health through inspired eating habits will be the focus of this presentation by Ingrid Friesen Moser. A plan for everyday eating as well as some ideas for feasting, and fasting will be presented.
Ingrid is a Registered Dietitian, and has a graduate degree in Christian Formation. Ingrid has worked in the areas of community health and wellness, oncology, and spiritual direction. She is married to David Moser, and has two pre-school aged boys.

Brunch at Hope Springs—- Saturday, December 5 - 9:00 a.m. Aunt Karen’s Café located at Hope Springs, C.R. 37. The topic will be Holiday Traditions. My name is Lisa Plett and I am on the Women's Ministry team at Maple City Chapel in Goshen, Indiana. We as a team have been trying to figure out different ways to communicate to the ladies of Maple City and beyond. This blog's purpose is to communicate upcoming events and other helpful information regarding our women's minstry.
